Is your church eager to engage young people and yet, you don't know where to start?

Engage empowers ordinary Christians to involve young people in a meaningful and life-changing relationship with God.

Engage equips churches for evangelism and  discipleship in a way that:

  •    Works in churches of any size or context.
  •    Develops people without adding programs or budget.
  •    Serves the needs of every generation.
  •    Equips both young and old to grow in their faith.
  •    Fulfills God’s plan for the church.

Psalm 78_3-4 SLN EngageThrough a training day we equip adults to know how to get started, what to do, and then provide ongoing support to assist them to keep going. The Engage initiative includes training to equip participants to engage meaningfully with teenagers. This training is practical, interactive and enjoyable, designed to give people confidence in the task of discipleship.”

The method: Talk. Study. Pray.

Many people are capable of helping young people to follow Christ but just need some encouragement and basic training in order to get started. Engage works around the simple idea of equipping older Christians to meet regularly with one or more young people to:

  • Talk with them: Get to know them and discuss matters of faith.
  • Study the Bible.
  • Pray

This is a simple method of engaging young people in the faith. Yet for many, this kind of ministry has never been modeled for us, so starting out can be intimidating. Engage equips ordinary members of congregations through a training day led by experienced youth ministers. But that’s not all! Engage will provide ongoing support through a select team of coaches committed to helping individuals grow in their role of discipling young people.

Participants need to be adults of your congregation that you identify as godly individuals who live a life worthy of imitation (1 Corinthians 11:1), trust the scriptures (1 Timothy 4:16), and connect well with others.
